No appreciation of the Yuan anytime soon
Wishful thinking has led many analysts to call for an appreciation of China's currency, the Renminbi or Yuan. Shaun Rein goes against that trend and says that an appreciation soon would hurt the recovering export industry too much and might cost up to 5 million jobs, he tells Bloomberg.

Annette D.S.M. Ms Nijs started her career working for Shell. She gained more than 10 years experience in the energy industry. She operated in functions ranging from business consultancy, strategy, marketing, sales, media relations and regional finance management to global bottom line management. Annette has experience in different sectors of the energy industry: exploration & production, trading of oil products and sales of oil products to industrial customers.
Annette Nijs is a member of the Advisory Board of several Dutch organizations such as 'The Maatschappij voor Nijverheid en Handel', the oldest Dutch network of entrepreneurs, and 'The Academia Vitae', a new Liberal Arts University. She is partner of FIPRA NL an international public affairs company in The Hague, which is part of the global FIPRA network. Ms Nijs is senior advisor of EFMD, The European Foundation of Management Development in Brussels. She furthermore advises various internationally operating companies in the field of human resources, IT innovations and public affairs.
She was a regular guest speaker at London Business School (LBS).. She currently is a regular guest column writer and speaker on China, the global economy, world trends and leadership. Ms Nijs has a Masters degree in macro-economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and an executive MBA from London Business School.
