E-commerce is booming in China, even more than in the US, says Shanghai-based business analyst Shaun Rein in ABC. E-commerce is expected to grow from 25 percent now, to 50 percent soon.

Shaun Rein, a Shanghai-based market research analyst, said these days it was exactly what the leaders want to help the slowing economy.
“E-Commerce sales in the United States only accounts for about 15 per cent of sales, in China it’s about 25 per cent,” he said.
“And we expect this to hit 50 per cent within the next five years as e-commerce plays a much bigger role in China than in the US.”
