Business analyst Shaun Rein will be staying most of October in Australia, in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. He is there at an appropriate time, when politicians seem clueless about China, and when not clueless do just the wrong thing.
China is becoming increasily assertive, making businesses and politicians worldwide nervous, although the Australian look more clueless than others. China´s huge investment program One Belt, One Road, where Australia has been left out. Australia became part of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), want in the running for a leadership function, but fell out of the boat. The recent refusal to block Chinese investments in the national grid Ausgrid, is only matched by the (temporarily) refusal by the British to allow Chinese investments into its nuclear program.
